About Us

Zakk the Cat was created to share the success I had treating my cat Zakk for feline leukemia virus (FeLV). This site includes information I researched after adopting Zakk from a shelter. Although I did find the methods I used online, I wanted to gather them all on one site to hopefully help other cats suffering from this contagious and often fatal disease.

Zakk defied the odds and survived a disease that is often terminal for felines. When Zakk was first diagnosed, the vets didn’t think he would make it very long. But through consistent effort and care, including putting Zakk on a healthy diet, he beat the disease.

I know the diagnosis can feel like a death sentence for many cat owners out there. My intention with this site is to provide hope and helpful information so other cats like Zakk can survive and thrive too. I understand how scary and sad this situation is, but I want this story to inspire people to not give up on their pets.
