Zakk’s Diet
Zakk usually eats a raw cat food diet with added supplements. I prepare his food in large batches and freeze individual meal size tupperware containers in a chest freezer. Each night I take out what I need to feed him and let it defrost in the refrigerator so he has fresh food for the next day.

How I Make Zakk’s Raw Cat Food
I’ve recorded a series of videos showing exactly how I make a batch of Zakk’s food. I realize that many people prefer watching rather than reading about a process. To make it easier for those interested in learning how to prepare homemade raw cat food, I’ve recorded myself making an actual batch of raw cat food.
In my video you will see how I prepare everything along with everything I use from the meat grinder to the food storage containers. I will also share my best tips and tricks I learned since I started making raw cat food. Over the years, I have streamlined the process of making raw cat food and I want to share my best tips with you.
You should expect to spend a few hours from start to finish, including clean up. But keep in mind, the food will last for months so this isn’t something you need to do on a weekly or even monthly basis. And you will save a lot of money making the food versus buying cat food.
Store Bought Food
Occasionally, I feed Zakk store-bought cat food, but I stick to a specific brand and type of food. If I need to buy Zakk food, he gets the Tiki Cat brand wet food with the fewest ingredients in it.
I stay away from all the pates because they have a lot of extra ingredients and are not in line with the type of species-specific diet I feed him. If you are looking at the Tiki wet cat food as an option, just read the label to make sure there aren’t a lot of extra ingredients in the can.
Cat Treats
All cats enjoy treats, and Zakk is no exception but he receives them in moderation. Here are the treats I feed him – Tiki Cat Stix wet cat treats. I usually buy the large tub of 50 stix which has 3 different flavors.
The Tiki Cat Stix are a healthy snack option for when I want to give Zakk a cat treat, and he really likes these creamy treats.
